How the technique works
The Signature Russian Gel Manicure uses a hardware gel approach that originated in Europe to protect the natural nail bed while letting the nail grow underneath. Technicians prepare and secure the natural nail with precise tools and gel layers designed for short to medium-length nails. This method is not a nail extension; it creates a durable protective layer that typically lasts three to four weeks.
Because the process protects the existing nail rather than extending it, results depend on natural nail health and growth. Expect careful cuticle work and thin gel layering that reduces lifting on short nails. The treatment is especially useful for clients wanting a longer-lasting, low-bulk finish while preserving their nail’s natural shape and strength.
Options and limitations
If you want extra reinforcement, choose the optional hard gel overlay labeled "hard gel (overlay)"; it adds structural strength and supports nail growth. Important: this hard gel overlay is a strengthening overlay only and does not include any nail art or design. Technicians will clarify expectations so you understand this is reinforcement, not decorative work or an extension.
Removal and maintenance differ by product. Our salon includes gel polish removal for services performed here; if polish was applied elsewhere, removal costs an additional $5. Hard gel removal performed outside our salon costs $10. These fees reflect the extra time and care required to safely remove reinforced gel without damaging the natural nail.
Local scheduling and care
Nature Care Med Spa in downtown New Rochelle serves busy commuters from nearby neighborhoods and towns. Easy Metro-North access and nearby highways make after-work appointments popular, while family-focused weekend demand influences available slots. Plan appointments accordingly if you’re visiting before or after events at Glen Island Park or downtown waterfront activities where longer-lasting nails are convenient.
The service starts at $105 and the appointment length is 120 MINUTES, which covers preparation, gel application, and aftercare guidance. Coastal New York’s four-season climate can affect nail wear—winter dryness and summer humidity influence maintenance—so follow your technician’s tips for upkeep and book touch-ups around heavy activity or travel schedules.
